And A Songwriter

THE BICYCATS

I am The Bicycats. I’ve combined my obsession with portmanteaus and my love of performing with friends to create my namesake band. I’ve written hundreds of songs, produced three albums, and performed extensively throughout the US including a few national tours.

DON’T BE SURPRISED WHEN YOU SEE US BEARS

This is technically the third album by The Bicycats, but one could make the argument that this is the fourth or the eighth.

Released April 6, 2018.

Lighthearted and a whole lot of goofy is what smacks the listener in the mug during the initial spin…shows he hasn’t lost his gift for making intuitive oddball observations with a poppy afterglow.
— Frank De Blase, Rochester City Newspaper

BE WITH ME

An original song that was intended for the musical, Disasteroid! The Musical, but was much better as a single for The Bicycats.

Directed by Kelly Gallamore, Edited by Jim Pierce (Hat and Suitcase)

Released 2012

HOW COULD YOU? (or: WAS IT GOOD FOR YOU, TOO?)

The second album by The Bicycats. It was recorded and mixed in Rochester, New York over six months -- the snowy ones.

Released July 31, 2008

The Bicycats have pedaled their way into my heart.
— Sara Brickner, Seattle Weekly

I LOVE YOU FOR YOUR MIND

The debut album by The Bicycats was recorded and mixed over a single summer in a makeshift studio [basement] in Rochester, New York's 19th Ward. (Actually, two songs were recorded in Brooklyn, but let's pretend the whole thing was recorded in Rochester. Yep. Good old Rochester.)

Released September 13, 2006

With I Love You For Your Mind, Bernstein has assembled an album’s worth of light-hearted pop rock all chock full of unabashed goofiness.
— Bryan Reed, The Daily Tarheel

DEMO RECORDINGS: MY IDEAS ARE GREAT

My Ideas Are Great is a collection of demos by The Bicycats. These rough recordings showcase the songs written by The Bicycats since 2008 (mostly).
