Born and raised on Long Island, I'm a writer and a songwriter living in Los Angeles.  I graduated from the dramatic writing program at Purchase College, and after graduating, recorded some albums and toured around the country under the name The Bicycats.  Musically, I'm influenced by The Beatles, The Kinks, Scott Walker, They Might Be Giants, Dusty Springfield, and many others (I've been regularly compared to Jonathan Richman).  As a writer, I gravitate towards dry humor and unusual concepts, and I’m at my best when my characters patiently endure the torment of the absurdity that surrounds them.   I've combined my love of writing and music to create some pocket-sized musicals.  My specialty is writing songs that characters sing in film, television, and on stage. My vices are crossword puzzles and pie. I like to make strange ideas work.
