THE BICYCATS

I am The Bicycats. Listen on Bandcamp. Listen on Spotify.

SPLENDOR WITHIN REASON (2023)

Splendor Within Reason adds an introspective "California ennui" layer to the usual Bicycats sound, with eight folk-rock/dream pop songs musing over escapism, morbid fantasizing, desires just out of reach, and cholesterol-induced anxiety, each sprinkled with melodic candor and deadpan humor.

...satiates in its meshing of laid-back haziness and twangy rock nostalgia.
— Obscure Sound

DON’T BE SURPRISED WHEN YOU SEE US BEARS (2018)

This is technically the third album by The Bicycats, but one could make the argument that this is the fourth or the eighth.

Released April 6, 2018.

Lighthearted and a whole lot of goofy is what smacks the listener in the mug during the initial spin…shows he hasn’t lost his gift for making intuitive oddball observations with a poppy afterglow.
— Frank De Blase, Rochester City Newspaper

BE WITH ME

An original song that was intended for the musical, Disasteroid! The Musical, but was much better as a single for The Bicycats.

Directed by Kelly Gallamore, Edited by Jim Pierce (Hat and Suitcase)

Released 2012

HOW COULD YOU? (2008)

The second album by The Bicycats. It was recorded and mixed in Rochester, New York over six months -- the snowy ones.

The Bicycats have pedaled their way into my heart.
— Sara Brickner, Seattle Weekly

I LOVE YOU FOR YOUR MIND (2006)

The debut album by The Bicycats was recorded and mixed over a single summer in a makeshift studio [basement] in Rochester, New York's 19th Ward.

With I Love You For Your Mind, Bernstein has assembled an album’s worth of light-hearted pop rock all chock full of unabashed goofiness.
— Bryan Reed, The Daily Tarheel
